La Contraloría General exonera de responsabilidad civil a un funcionario de Carabineros por daños a un furgón fiscal ocurridos durante una persecución, al no mediar culpa o negligencia del funcionario.

• Carabineros officer Francisco Andrés Aravena Aravena was involved in an incident on February 17, 2012, while driving a fiscal furgón (Z-4933) during a pursuit in Pudahuel.
• The pursuit was of a taxi reported stolen. The pursued taxi intentionally struck the right side of the fiscal vehicle to evade apprehension and fled the scene.
• The fiscal vehicle sustained damages, assessed at $453,000 by the Sección de Reparaciones y Mantenimiento de Vehículos in 2013.
• The damaged vehicle was repaired and returned to operational use.
• The case was submitted for the exoneration of civil responsibility for officer Aravena.
